8.6 The position of the adjective in the sentence

Adjectives are words that describe or qualify a noun.

Jeg har en gammel hund.   I have an old dog.

When the adjective serves as a subjective complement (see Mini-dictionary), it stands as an independent element in the sentence.

Hunden er gammel.   The dog is old.

Comparison:
The position of the adjective is the same in English as in Danish.
