3.4 Personal pronouns as direct object or indirect object

A personal pronoun can be used either as direct object, indirect object or after a preposition.

Lægen behandlede hende. The doctor treated her.
Han gav os en gave. He gave us a gift.
Hun ringer til mig. She is phoning me.

Comparison:
Also in English the personal pronouns have different forms depending on their function as either direct object or indirect object or their position after a preposition. This, however, does not apply to the 2nd.person singular and plural.

I gave her a present.
I gave you a present.
